Hello, and welcome back to another episode of My Life Crumbling to Pieces!! (its a vine, i had to) Nah, I’m kidding. Life actually is not that bad rn. This week I actually get a break from traveling since Segovia is only a day trip; however, the rest of the week I still have to work since school is (sadly) still a thing. Sometimes, it doesn’t seem that I am actually in school since I never did as many activities in Richmond. I spend a lot more time planning trips than I do studying rn, but as the title suggests, that will surely be changing soon.
School
School is normal this week. We have a late night lab for Signals, but that was only a Matlab exercise. After a little bit of research, the assignment was easy enough. Still learning other stuff as well. We are almost halfway through the semester in Biomechanics and we are still on strain. Our first round of tests is coming up after the Salamanca trip, and then another round after the weekend Katie comes to Madrid. All in all, 4 tests in 2 weeks, but thankfully they all happen before the Morocco trip. Hopefully these don’t kill me, cause basically my entire grade is determined by 3 tests for all my classes. So I kind of have to do well if I want an A in the class. The worst is gonna be the second round of tests at the end of November, cause I will be traveling every weekend, and will have 0 time to study (and that one is 3 tests in 2 days. rip my sanity). So I will have to reintroduce myself to double coffee days and late late nights. Oh well.
I also have an update on my travel situation!! For some reason, I didn’t think I was using my time in Spain to the fullest (i have no idea why, don’t ask), and after careful deliberation with my parents and friends, I have added another trip to November!! From the weekend of the 15-18, I will be going to the Canary Islands (Lanzarote to be specific)!! It will be an activity centered trip, including surfing and scuba diving! I will also go hiking to a volcanic crater as well, so I am super excited for this trip!! My AirBnB is 100 meters from the beach, and supposedly public transit is nice, so the 2 hour bus ride to get to the surf school should be hella worth it. I am so ready.
Segovia and the Weekend
Friday – i did absolutely nothing. I woke up, moved to the couch, and binged 3 seasons on Netflix. yea.
Saturday – Day Trip to Segovia!! This was an early riser, as we had to be at a certain metro stop by 9. After a really nice nap on the bus, we arrive at the Roman Aqueduct at the edge of the Old City.

This was built I think in the year 200 BCE. I have to check my video about this tour. But yea, very cool!! Next, we went on a walking tour of the Old City, being told many interesting facts about the history in this over 2000 year old city.

We walked by the Cathedral in the city, yet for reasons unknown to me, WE DID NOT GET TO SEE THE INSIDE OF IT!!! I though my mess up in Barcelona would be made up for here and I would get my Gothic Cathedral fix, but apparently not. I’m not upset, dont worry.

After that, we went to Alcazar, which is the Castle there. This is my favorite church because right next door, there is a chemistry lab!! but the inside was really cool, so here are some pictures. And it is on a cliff face, so down hill was DOWN HILL.

After that, we ate our lunch (thank you Lord for Zaida, who is a fantastic cook) of bocadillos de tortilla de patata and returned to the bus. After that, we took a trip to a Versailles-style palace called La Granja (the farm), which was 1 part palace, 20 parts garden.

After that, re returned home. This one is gonna be a short vlog, so hopefully I have enough footage.
Sunday – Went to El Rastro, relaxed, and started editing my Barcelona Vlog (which is now up if you haven’t seen it yet). All in all, a very relaxing weekend!
In Conclusion…
Life is going great!! With each passing week, the trips I am really looking forward to get closer and closer. I have a blackbear concert the day of a test and the night before another test, so that one is not gonna be fun, but what are you gonna do?? I am looking for a soccer game to go to for Real Madrid (I have decided to have them as my team, so no complaining), but that will come in time. The Lanzarote trip just came to me all of a sudden, and I am still trying to come to terms that it is actually happening.
I have to start preparing for next semester now too!! I have to look for housing when I come back, as well as prepare my class schedule, cause registration is usually at the end of this month. It just seems too soon, like LET ME ENJOY MY TIME HERE!!
My mom asked me for my Christmas list, and because I am a nerd, it entirely consisted of parts of a gaming PC. I want a gaming PC that can play VR games, so I have also been looking at VR headsets and getting exited at how much innovation is happening in that world rn. Oculus Quest, I have my eyes on you.
But thanks for reading about my life!! Next week’s blog post won’t be that interesting since its my only week off until the beginning of December. It will mostly consist of more binge watching, a museum tour, and maybe some studying. See you then!!
(enjoy some spicy memes on the house tho)
